The Dark History of the Reincarnated Villainess Ep. 9: The same song and dance repeated ad nauseam

When we last left off, Cheneau had told Iana to run away and look for help, but she steadfastly refused. She believed that if she left, he would most certainly die at Amaryllis’s hand. So instead, right at the start of this week’s episode, our heroine/villainess strikes a pose and embraces her identity as Iana Magnolia. The animators probably intend for this scene to be comedic — and I know Iana is just bluffing — but I’m still cringing. It’s just that she doesn’t really have a plan to get out of this mess. Rather, she just thinks she could tap into her inner chuunibyo and scare Amaryllis into backing off. Well, luckily for her, the cops soon arrive thanks to ideal Konoha awakening to some of her saintly powers.

The Fated Magical Princess: Who Made Me a Princess Ep. 12: Boys, boys, boys… can’t stop talking about them!

For some reason, Athanasia still can’t sit back and enjoy the fruits of her labor. I mean, her night went exactly as she had hoped. Her dad escorted her to the ball and danced with her like she requested, Duke A-something didn’t get the chance to mess things up, and her surprise gift at the very end blew everyone’s socks off. At the very least, it must have touched Claude’s heart. So what could she possibly be unhappy about? Nevertheless, Athanasia feels uneasy. Sometimes, you just gotta live in the moment and enjoy life, or else you’ll find yourself in your 60s, realizing that you’ve done nothing but stress and worry.

SPY x FAMILY Ep. 46: The big denouement

The first thing we see is Eden College handing out those precious Stellas. I get why Anya, Becky, and Damian got one, but why Bill? Eh, I guess we do give out participation awards. Love it for Damian, though. The kid will always remember this achievement as the “I’m Gonna Crap My Pants” Stella. Why don’t I like Damian? ‘Cause c’mon, he makes it so easy. But on a more positive note, Anya’s easily the MVP and Becky is hella underrated. She had to transcribe her bestie’s chicken scratch into something legible, after all.

Sanda Ep. 9: To punch, or not to punch the most vulnerable… that is the question

As soon as the episode starts, we see the director giving Santa tough love by breaking one of his fingers, and telling him how he’ll die if he continues to hesitate against foes like Class 10’s Namatame. Basically, if he wants to grow up and become an adult, he’s going to have to be able to make tough decisions like… uh, punching and kicking women and children. Wait, I feel like we’ve taken a wrong turn somewhere. Look, the point is that he can’t hesitate in the midst of battle! Yeah, that’s right! Well, her advice makes perfect sense in a shounen battle anime, but what are we? Are we in a battle anime? Is it Santa’s destiny to save the world through direct combat? I sure hope not. Luckily, the next story beat allays my fears a little.
