May I Ask for One Final Thing? Ep. 7: The saint has a crush?!

But before we get to Diana’s love life, we need to settle things with Palmia. When we last left off, the bad guys had disrupted a ceremony meant to kick off Saint Diana’s pilgrimage. Scarlet is quick to jump into action, so she chucks a single spear and demolishes an entire building belonging to the Palmiam faith. We then see a bunch of Palmian adherents gnash their teeth and curse the “blasphemer” who would dare attack them. On the one hand, we know these are the bad guys; we know they deserve it. But on the other hand, she is kinda overstepping her bounds. I suppose it helps to have the crown prince in your pocket, but still, Scarlet is playing judge, jury, and executioner. For now, the people are on her side. I just wonder if the story will ever consider having the pendulum swing the other way, i.e. the people slowly becoming scared of Scarlet for perhaps going too far one day. For example, Batman might be a hero, but he’s still a vigilante who some people reasonably oppose for his extrajudicial actions.

May I Ask for One Final Thing? Ep. 6: Ascending the hierarchy of people to punch

When the story resumes, Scarlet is all by herself on a balcony as she tells us how Terenezza has disappeared. Huh, what happened to punching Julius? Don’t tell me we’re skipping out on that. You can’t give me a cliffhanger and then not resolve it! But instead of punching out an annoying prince, Scarlet reads a letter from the latest incarnation of Saint Diana. Scarlet has a new mission: go on a holy pilgrimage with the saint. She’ll be there as both friend and bodyguard. Moreover, the prince somehow has both women pissed off at him. We all know he can troll Scarlet, but what exactly has he done to Diana? Well, this is anime, so I wouldn’t be surprised if the saint herself is somehow a part of Scarlet’s harem. As such, it’s probably a safe bet that she’s jealous of anyone who gets close to her crush.

May I Ask for One Final Thing? Ep. 5: No exceptions for royalty

I don’t know why Julius has to be like this. When Scarlet’s besties were talking about the prospects of getting married one day, she instantly thought of him. Basically, he all but has Scarlet’s heart in his hands. He could seal the deal right now. All he has to do is stop being a troll. But the troublesome prince couldn’t resist himself. I suppose it’s just his nature. Like how Scarlet can’t stop clobbering people, Julius can’t stop riling her up. Maybe it’s even deeper than that. Maybe Julius’s afraid that commitment would make their relationship boring — that them being lovey-dovey would make her less interesting. Well, heavens forbid, we can’t let the prince be bored! But seriously, when you think about it, he’s another spoiled prince like his brother. Julius is certainly not nasty and cruel like Kyle, so at least he has that going for him. This guy has obviously never been put in his place. So if Scarlet does sock him at the start of next week’s episode, I can’t even be mad. He deserves it. Naturally, I’d personally punch him for different reasons. Remember folks, no kings.

May I Ask for One Final Thing? Ep. 3: I was told there would be punches

Sure, that’s one punch, but where’s the second punch? And third? And fourth? Unfortunately, before we get to see Scarlet punch a bunch of slave traders and owners, we gotta first figure out the location of the auction. Which is what I thought we did last week at the end of the second episode, but apparently not. The middleman merely gets Scarlet in touch with another slave owner by the name of Zatharin, and she needs his help to actually attend the auction. Ugh, fine. Let’s drag this out a little.
