Here’s a neat experiment: give renowned animators one minute each to produce a short and see what they come up with. That’s exactly what NHK did.
Ani*Kuri15 gathered directors from all over the place, including but not limited to big studios such as Gonzo but even little guys like Makoto Shinkai’s Comix Wave Film. The results are mostly fun if somewhat predictable. There are some sure misses, especially from (no surprise) Gonzo, but for the most part, Ani*Kuri15 is enjoyable if not only to contrast styles. Below are screen caps from the ones that I definitely liked.
