Baka to Test to Shokanju Ep. 1

Because I don’t think I have much to say this time, we’ll do this in bullet format.

* Yuuji wants to prove to the world that grades aren’t everything…

…yet his strategy involves sacrificing his dumb classmates for Himeji, who is so good at test-taking, she should be in Class A. Way to stick it to the man, bro. You sure showed those jerks that grades aren’t everything.

* Isn’t it odd how Class A is vaguely blatantly upper-class European while Class F has stuff you’d find in a traditional Japanese room like tatami. Got something on your chest, guys? Feeling a little downtrodden?

* I bet any dubbing is better than listening to Yoshii’s weasel voice.

Thank God for another loser protagonist who has the ‘power’ to feel his avatar’s pain.

* Fighting in SD-form? Man, this is wacky! Did you see how that guy was named Voyeur because he likes to look up girls’ skirts? WACKY! If we’re gonna be so literal with the naming, why limit it to one guy? Yoshii can be Gigantic Loser. Himeji can be Mikuru Impersonator.

  1. Ever have an episode loaded and then scan through the whole episodes while it’s paused, looking at a bunch of screencaps to get the general idea of the episode? I did that with this. I then closed the tab. I’m convinced that the school setting is a complete waste of time when both presented in this kind of way. Maybe I’ll watch this in June or something, but for now, I’ll just wait for someone to sub something else I’d like to watch. I’m in the mindset of trying new anime, but I don’t feel like looking very hard, thus I’ll be waiting for things to pop up for a while, probably.

Yeah, I do this all the time. I used to watch only one show a season or maybe none at all. I started watching as many anime as I could since I started this blog though. There’s no point in just blogging about stuff you like.

      1. That’s why I like this blog. Many people go on about how they love things so much, and it’s great to see a set of authors with their eyes a bit more open to how stupid some things are. You’re also not afraid to go against the flow, as suggested by even the blog name. XD
