To make a long story short, the fearsome vampire lord doesn’t even have a name. He’s just… well, the vampire lord. Someone with connections to Tomokazu Sugita probably asked if the voice actor would like to come into the studio, ham it up for a few minutes, and collect a paycheck, which is exactly what he did. With the power of her sister’s blood, Iana manages to resist being turned into a vampire, trick the vampire lord into allowing her and Sol to get close, then defeat the vampire lord once and for all with a metal stake blessed with, again, her sister’s blood.
But it turns out there’s even a bigger, scarier threat: the shota. The kid actually belongs to a shadowy cadre hellbent on Konoha’s emergence as the saint, which would benefit them. How? Don’t ask me. Don’t ask Iana either. Somehow, our villainess doesn’t remember writing this part of the story at all. Nor does she even remember creating a character like the shota despite proclaiming to be a sick and pathetic shotacon an episode or two ago. Has she simply forgotten the details of her own work, or has her terribly-written tale finally taken on a life of its own? Well, we’ll probably never find out, because this anime is trash and I doubt it’ll get a sequel. At the same time, however, I’ve seen worse so you never know.
After finishing this final episode, I actually sat at my desk in silence for a quite a while. Of course, it’s not because the ending has stunned me with its brilliance. Rather, everything just felt so pointless. Whole vampire lord build-up for nothing. Some shadowy organization asspull just to hammer it home to the audience that the story is “to be continued.” The same tired song-and-dance between Iana and Sol. Konoha being one-dimensionally awesome as ever, having grown not one iota since the start of the series. Every NPC still thinks poorly of our “villainess.” Iana thinking every new change — even something as innocuous as being invited to Ginoford’s home — is a death flag. Sigh, the show is just so repetitive.
Most of all, I just kept thinking to myself, Man, I really wanna make lunch, then get back to playing Octopath Traveler 0. And can you blame me? I don’t wanna be watching and writing about this terrible ass show on Christmas Eve! I was actually super tempted to leave this final episode for the last “Everything else” post of the season. But I figured I’ve gotten this far, so I might as well just finish the job. Honestly, this is a pretty shoddy write-up, but I’m just putting in the same level of effort as The Dark History of the Reincarnated Villainess.
