When we last left off, Yuru and Dera were confronted by two evil-looking Daemons. Basically, we have a fight on our hands. Unfortunately, that’s also all we’re going to do.
— So Left and Right have fought the two new freaky Daemons before, but someone — perhaps the big bad — has gone and freed them. Why are they hairless? Why are they so hairless?
— It’s a common thing in fiction and not just anime: pretty = good, ugly = bad. Of course, I don’t want to think too deeply on it. Like, “OMG, if kids watch this, they will be easily food by attractive-looking charlatans in real life!” But y’know, it’s worth a minor consideration at least.
— The evil Daemons confess to eating children, which is bad! Hm, well, we eat lamb and veal. But we’re humans and we’re smart, so you can’t eat us! Well, I think that’s how the logic goes.
— I always forget which one is Left and which one is Right. Unfortunately, gendered names are mightily convenient, aren’t they?
— Interestingly, Dera pretends to be Left and Right’s master to draw their attention towards him. In video games, I always target the weakest enemy first, though.
— Left and Right are struggling against Tenaga-Ashinaga. Not only that, Yuru hasn’t awakened to his Seal powers. So… will we finally see him die? Or is that one of the dangling plot hooks in the series? ‘Cause if you remember, one of the previous twins — maybe even from the previous set — died and never came back. So if you were Yuru, would you even risk it? Maybe if his sister or his parents were in danger of dying… I could see him killing himself as a big, climactic moment for that arc. So yeah, he probably won’t die for this battle. It would be too early, the stakes too low, etc.
— The woman, i.e. one of the three who were hired to tail Yuru and Dera (maybe just Yuru), reveals that she was hired by one of the Kagemori. That’s not a huge revelation itself. But what I’m glad to see was Yuru not flipping his lid and overreacting. Instead, he specifically asks, “Which Kagemori?” He’s clear-minded enough to realize that they’re not one monolithic group. And so the lady reveals that it was the middle brother. Hm, so no plot twist? He’s just a bastard after all? On the other hand, he only hired them to follow Yuru and Dera, not hurt them. So the jury’s still out. I mean, Jin wanted to keep an eye on Dera too.
— Yuru and Dera deduce that the Tenaga-Ashinaga’s master must be nearby. Or at least, that’s what they hope. So for now, they split up with Yuru hoping to catch this illusive master offguard.
— Dera starts complaining about the damage being done to his home. Dude, we saw your other apartment last week, and it was shabby as hell. Your house here is probably a mess too. Plus, the surrounding fields are littered with corpses. Literally full of desiccated human remains. This isn’t exactly paradise.

— This is one of those anime tropes I absolutely hate. How can you feel bloodlust? But like I said, the fields just have dead bodies lying around.
— Dera starts sniping at the Daemons and the shots work. They work really well. As an aside, this makes me wonder who’s keeping stray Daemons in line. Normies can’t see them, right? So stray Daemons are essentially invisible and can do whatever the hell they want to most people. Who or what’s preventing them from wreaking havoc in the real world?
— Unfortunately, to save herself, the old lady reveals the truth about Yuru and Seal. Well, can you blame her? I wouldn’t die for some random kid. On the other hand, not only is Tenaga-Ashinaga standing still right now, they’re stacked on top of each other. Why doesn’t Dera just keep shooting?
— Why does Right even bother to save the old woman? Does he have a moral compass? Does he just know that Yuru would want to spare her?
— Again, I have to emphasize that they’re standing completely still. Just sayin’…
— Oh sure, now Dera complains about Tenaga-Ashinaga wiggingly around too much.
— Yuru pretends to use the powers of Seal, which causes Tenaga-Ashinaga to hesitate long enough for Left and right to strike. They drown the one that still has its eyes. Meanwhile, Dera finally decides to do something, so he snipes and kills the blinded one. Kinda anti-climactic, if you ask me. This entire encounter took up an entire episode, but you win by just drowning one of them? Eh.
— Well, this kinda confirms it: the middle brother was controlling Tenaga-Ashinaga all along. Even if they wanted to hunt him down, they couldn’t. He’s safely behind the walls of the Kagemori manor. So now what? I feel like if I were Yuru, I would immediately tell my sister. But he doesn’t have a smart phone nor does he even know how to use one.
— Final thoughts? This show’s pacing is really, really slow. Bigger, more important battles will probably span multiple episodes. I’m not really sure I’m interested in sticking around for that. I usually don’t watch shounen.
— On the plus side, at least we didn’t get some heartstrings-tugging flashback for Tenaga-Ashinaga right before they died.
