Shounen Saturday: Fall 2026, Week 6

Well, y’know, maybe he just wants some cake.

PSYREN Ep. 5

No new episode this week. Apparently, they aired a recap episode. It’s tough to keep four episodes in your memory, y’know?

TOUGEN ANKI: Nikko Kegon Falls Arc Ep. 6

Yaoroshi’s new buddies are both gross and monstrous. First, they have him drink one of the team members’ blood. Doing so allows them all to communicate telepathically. Yeah, I’m not touching anyone’s bodily fluids. Second, and this is the monstrous part, they find a room full of cooks. Yes, they’re all Momotaros, but still just cooks. Nevertheless, the Oni squad murders them all in cold blood anyway. After that, I kinda tuned the rest of the episode out. I hope the little girl gets saved and returned to her parents, but nothing else interests me. These people are all horrible.

Tokyo Revengers Ep. 56

Brahmin, one of the Three Deities gangs, is after Mikey, so Takemichi joins up with them. He feels as though they’re his best lead. Okay, sure. The big plot twist is how their leader Senju is a girl, but eh… when I first saw “him,” I thought, “Geez, they have kind of a babyface.” So I guess the reveal that Senju was a girl all along didn’t really surprise me. Not sure why she dragged him on a shopping trip, though. I guess the story really wants to emphasize that this gang leader is still just a teen girl… who also gets into street brawls? Well, we better see her kick some ass, then.

Right before they depart for the day, however, Takemichi suddenly sees a vision of Senju dying. Welp. They called this the final arc, right? Why does it feel like we still got 30 or 40 episodes left?

Black Clover Ep. 176

The story, i.e., Loropechka not being able to learn attack magic and how Acier died protecting her kids, are all pretty whatever. Didn’t tug a single heartstring. But the animation was pretty dope. Noelle and Vanica’s fight was smooth like butter. Speaking of Noelle, her taking Undine’s power and getting a new form… eh, I can’t really tell the difference between it and the previous one. Slightly different crown? I guess she’s showing off some cleavage? Ah well, it doesn’t matter.

Noelle wins, but Vanica is just a host. As a result, the devil Megicula comes out and fucks everyone’s shit up. What even is a Megicula? Is it based on a real demon? All top 20 DuckDuckGo search results point me back to Black Clover, and I’m not gonna waste more time researching this. I guess I’ll just leave it at that.

Anyway, it would suck if Asta simply swoops in and saves Noelle. If, however, it’s like a teamwork thing with everyone involved, then I guess that’s fine. After all, I suppose you could argue that Noelle’s siblings deserve to get their revenge as well. Well… on second thought, I dunno. Even though the show wants us to believe that Nozel had his reasons to treat Noelle poorly, I still don’t buy it. So y’know what, fuck him. Noelle deserves the final kill shot, and it’d be really annoying if she doesn’t get it.

Dragon Ball Super: Beerus Ep. 4

I forget how silly this show can be. First, we waste nearly a third of the episode on a rock-paper-scissors contest just to see Oolong throw out scissors three times in a row. I thought pigs were smart. Then Goku comes back and convinces Beerus to give them more time. He then summons Shenlong, who informs them how to bring about a Super Saiyan God. You just gotta have righteous Saiyans pour their spirit into one of them (Goku, obviously)! Piccolo initially thinks they’re one Saiyan short; he has to be told that Vegeta is… kind of a good guy now? Hah. But it turns out they are one person short because they misinterpreted Shenlong’s instructions! That’s when Videl volunteers to help. But how? She’s just a human! As it turns out, this is how Gohan learns that he’s going to be a father, because Videl is pregnant. Ah, that would be… Pan, right? Welp, that’s the only way a girl gets to participate — from the womb! All this because some furless cat is bored.
