May I Ask for One Final Thing? Ep. 3: I was told there would be punches

Sure, that’s one punch, but where’s the second punch? And third? And fourth? Unfortunately, before we get to see Scarlet punch a bunch of slave traders and owners, we gotta first figure out the location of the auction. Which is what I thought we did last week at the end of the second episode, but apparently not. The middleman merely gets Scarlet in touch with another slave owner by the name of Zatharin, and she needs his help to actually attend the auction. Ugh, fine. Let’s drag this out a little.

My Awkward Senpai Ep. 2: Mountains outta molehills

Kannawa’s still struggling to ask Kamegawa out to lunch. In my head, I would just send my mentee a Slack message along the lines of, “Hey, wanna grab lunch. We can discuss your role, current project, and answer any questions and concerns you might have.” Sure, this doesn’t have the personal touch of a face-to-face request, but uh, why does a work lunch between team members need a personal touch anyway? The only reason why she’s having so much trouble with this is because she’s ironically not being professional about it. If it’s a boy-girl thing, i.e. a date, sure, asking him out is awkward. But between a mentor and a mentee, what’s the problem? If they were both the same gender, would this still be difficult for her?

Dusk Beyond the End of the World Ep. 2: In my restless dreams, I see that town… Tokyo…

When we last left off, an android who is a dead ringer for Towa comes to Akira’s rescue. She even wants to marry him. She’s not Towa, though. She’s Yugure. And although she might be able to shed some light on so many mysteries, according to her, it’s all classified. Why does she look like Towa? Why does she have the exact ring that Akira gave Towa over 200 years ago? What happened to Towa? Why does she want to marry him? Hell, what happened to this world? All reasonable questions to ask, but Yugure stays completely mum. Perhaps she’ll answer those questions after he marries her, but for our protagonist, his previous life still feels like it was just yesterday. He can’t just erase his feelings for Towa in so short of a time. He needs time to cope with her loss. Well, he doesn’t exactly get that luxury.

The Dark History of the Reincarnated Villainess Ep. 1: Like looking into a mirror

Another villainess story, but this time, our protagonist wrote the damn thing. So maybe we can a little more meta than usual? Konoha has always been obsessed with the stories that you typically find in otome games. Y’know, tales where the heroine has hot guys drooling over her, but there’s always a bitter, jealous woman bringing her down. It’s just a harem but in reverse. Naturally, our protagonist grows up, gets a boring office job (only people who have known the soul-sucking corporate world would want to be isekai’d), dies tragically to a truck, and reincarnates into her own story as the villainess.
