The Fated Magical Princess: Who Made Me a Princess Ep. 12: Boys, boys, boys… can’t stop talking about them!

For some reason, Athanasia still can’t sit back and enjoy the fruits of her labor. I mean, her night went exactly as she had hoped. Her dad escorted her to the ball and danced with her like she requested, Duke A-something didn’t get the chance to mess things up, and her surprise gift at the very end blew everyone’s socks off. At the very least, it must have touched Claude’s heart. So what could she possibly be unhappy about? Nevertheless, Athanasia feels uneasy. Sometimes, you just gotta live in the moment and enjoy life, or else you’ll find yourself in your 60s, realizing that you’ve done nothing but stress and worry.

SPY x FAMILY Ep. 46: The big denouement

The first thing we see is Eden College handing out those precious Stellas. I get why Anya, Becky, and Damian got one, but why Bill? Eh, I guess we do give out participation awards. Love it for Damian, though. The kid will always remember this achievement as the “I’m Gonna Crap My Pants” Stella. Why don’t I like Damian? ‘Cause c’mon, he makes it so easy. But on a more positive note, Anya’s easily the MVP and Becky is hella underrated. She had to transcribe her bestie’s chicken scratch into something legible, after all.

Sanda Ep. 9: To punch, or not to punch the most vulnerable… that is the question

As soon as the episode starts, we see the director giving Santa tough love by breaking one of his fingers, and telling him how he’ll die if he continues to hesitate against foes like Class 10’s Namatame. Basically, if he wants to grow up and become an adult, he’s going to have to be able to make tough decisions like… uh, punching and kicking women and children. Wait, I feel like we’ve taken a wrong turn somewhere. Look, the point is that he can’t hesitate in the midst of battle! Yeah, that’s right! Well, her advice makes perfect sense in a shounen battle anime, but what are we? Are we in a battle anime? Is it Santa’s destiny to save the world through direct combat? I sure hope not. Luckily, the next story beat allays my fears a little.

May I Ask for One Final Thing? Ep. 10: A big snooze of an episode

When we last left off… um, well, Scarlet sums it up pretty succinctly in the screenshot above. So what are we going to do now? We can’t exactly punch nations… unless… but first, the story insists on holding a strategy conference to discuss the state of the realm, and I’m already groaning internally. Uh-huh, we’re being invaded on multiple fronts, all hope is loss, yadda, yadda, yadda. Can we just cut straight to the heart of the matter already? This is when Julius introduces Alflame, that meat head from so many episodes ago, to the party. The prince of Vankish has a proposal for Julius and Pallistan, which quickly gets everyone else up in arms. Their distaste, especially Scarlet’s, is understandable, but considering Pallistan’s current predicament, at least hear the meat head out before outright rejecting the proposal. But much to her brother’s chagrin, Scarlet tends to punch first and ask questions later.

My Awkward Senpai Ep. 9: Love and jealousy is in the air

The episode kicks things off with Kannawa being literally too scared to enter a store and shop for new outfits. Why? Because she doesn’t want to interact with any of its employees. Jesus, just tell them you’re just looking. In the end, Kamegawa has to fortuitously bump into his nervous wreck of a senpai (it’s a small world), and thus does the talking for her. This is some real “Um, she asked for no pickles” energy. Our hardass senpai’s getting progressively childish as the story unfolds.
