Look at this guy crashing out over cousin love. Pathetic.
Though I Am an Inept Villainess Ep. 9

Realizing that Shu Gabi intends to take out the empress, Reirin asks the crown prince to let her use the bow of warding again. He actually says no. He says no! Sure, Reirin might hurt herself, but his mother might die. I’m tellin’ ya, this guy sucks. When the lion refused to attack Reirin back in episode one, he actually ordered the guard captain to rile the lion up. Reirin has kept trying to get through to him all this time to no avail. He claims to love only Reirin, but it sure feels as though that love is surface deep; he only finds it strange that the girls are behaving oddly. Sadly, the crown prince is now fully aware of the body swap, because he saw her true reflection in the bucket of special water he fetched for her. So far, this show has been decent. It’s not brilliant by any means, but I’m not bored out of my mind when I watch it. But I swear, if the crown prince becomes a legit love interest, I’m out. I will not entertain his grody ass for a second.
Sure, there isn’t really anyone to replace him. His half-brother, the guard captain, has been a non-presence outside of a couple of scenes (and thus a complete waste of Aleks Le’s talents). But that’s fine. After all, do we really need a love interest? Alas, this is a show literally about girls being groomed to fuck the crown prince, so I’m not getting my hopes up. The novel series that this show is based on is still ongoing, right? So in all likelihood, regardless of what happens with the empress, both brothers will compete for Reirin’s love going forward.
By the way, Reirin refers to the empress as her aunt. She’s probably done this before, but I only noticed just now. That means the crown prince is her cousin… ugh, now it’s even worse.
We learn this week that the empress and Gabi were pregnant at the same time. Unfortunately, Gabi lost her child, and the empress could not bear to see her. It would feel like rubbing her good luck in her friend’s face. Nevertheless, Gabi probably thought she had been abandoned. Well, cool story, but it still doesn’t justify murder. But I suppose they wouldn’t have great coping methods when they’re locked away in the palace like cattle.
When the crown prince refused to let Reirin use the bow of warding, she thinks she has only one way left to save the empress: swap back to her old body. This way, she can talk some sense into the crown prince. Keigetsu, however, points out two crucial things. First, just let Shin-ei use the bow of warding. Why does it have to be Reirin? Anyone could do it. Second, it would actually be better to fight the curse with a curse. As luck would have it, Reirin has been inadvertently cultivating a cursed pest this whole time. Even crazier, however, is the fact that it has only been nine days since the two maidens swapped bodies. Man, it felt a lot longer than that.
The Forsaken Saintess and Her Foodie Roadtrip in Another World Ep. 10

Vil is supposed to take his party to see his brother, but he keeps stalling. There isn’t even a good reason for it either. Vil simply ran away from home without any warning, so he feels bad if he just shows back up. Whatever, man. That’s nothing. In fact, I’m more concerned about these isekai protagonists seemingly having no concern for their families. Vil asks Rin if she would like to go home and see her family again. This is what she has to say: “To be honest, I don’t have any desire to go back at the moment. I care about my family, don’t get me wrong. But right now, I’m more concerned about solving this Saintess Summoning mystery.” Then you don’t care. If you truly have a loving relationship with your family, you would never say something like this. But I shouldn’t be surprised, because isekai protagonists are soulless.
Whatever, let’s just talk about the food. The party proceeds to stuff itself silly with mountains of fried food. Just looking at them makes my arteries preemptively cry out in pain. The gang even slathers rich tartar sauce on everything. Still, Rin is right about one thing: “Who could possibly resist the temptation of a ball of pure carbs and fat soaked in soy sauce?” What this show needs to do, however, is to show both the short-term and long-term consequences of Rin joining the party. First, you gotta have the food coma. Who can eat all that and still be fighting fit? As for the long-term consequences, where are the pounds? C’mon, they’ve been eating good every single day, right? So where are those calories going? Why hasn’t anyone packed on unnecessary weight? Well, that’s how you know this show is pure BS fantasy.
Even after all that fried slop, are you ready for even more? Of course you are! And this time, it’s isekai slop! Rin finally meets Vil’s brother, who reveals that he’s also a reincarnator. Basically, in his previous life, his company produced an otome game with the exact same events as the ones Rin has been living through! Wow, so original! So delicious! Mmm, baby, just keep shoveling that slop down my gullet!
The Oblivious Saint Can’t Contain Her Power Ep. 11

Even in her final moments, Fiora refuses to repent. Whoops, maybe she won’t be redeemed after all. You gotta be a real hater to go down choking on your own blood. Nevertheless, Carolina not only saves her sister’s life, she makes it undeniably clear that she is the one true saint by sprouting wings from her back. The emcee still hilariously insists on the contestants finishing up the trials, which is utterly idiotic. What I find even funnier, however, is that Carolina can heal the sick, purify the filth, and revive the dead… but she can’t do a damn thing about Fiora’s dark, twisted heart. As soon as Fiora wakes up and realizes she’s gotten a second lease on life, she’s pissed. How dare you save me? Did I say you could do that?!
Man, Fiora really needs to find a hobby. Or get laid. Fuck it, do both. Collect stamps while riding someone, I don’t care! Just find anything to preoccupy herself, because wasting all of this energy on one person is so stupid. Well, guess what? Stupid is going to keep trucking on. Their father finally has a heart-to-heart conversation with Fiora in which he admits he’s been a deadbeat, but it’s like ten, twenty years too late. Fiora still believes she can still ruin Carolina’s life, so I guess we’ll be getting round two between the two sisters in the final episode. Sigh, what a drag…
All Works Maid Ep. 12

Oh, this was the season finale. Man, what an unsatisfying show. I mean, I get what it’s trying to do. Fine, let’s subvert the standard isekai tropes. But you still gotta have a point or vision other than “Haha, girliepop just wants to be a maid.” But that’s literally all that this show is. Melody’s overpowered magic solves every single conflict, then everything goes back to the status quo. It’s the kind of show where nothing really changes from start to finish, so why are we even watching? Melody doesn’t grow or change. Luciana as a person doesn’t grow or change. Her circumstances are merely improved. None of the side characters grow or change. Nobody gets to get together, nobody else learns about Melody’s secret, etc. The state of the world remains completely inert. What exactly did we do for the past twelve episodes other than twiddle our thumbs? You can get away with this if you’re balls-to-the-walls funny, but nope, that’s not this show either. So what was the point?
