I hate turning these episodic updates into massive screencap galleries, but honestly the richness of Bakemonogatari‘s visuals makes me feel helpless to avoid it. And as much as I try to keep my critic’s impartiality, something about the show encourages fanatacism. Senjougahara fascination is catching on fast, but, happily, Bakemonogatari doesn’t seem to be willing to rest on its laurels.

Bakemonogatari Ep. 3
Why haven’t you seen Mōryō no Hako yet?
Moryo no Hako is actually a winter anime (the last episode aired on the 30th of last December), but it remains unfinished by fansubbers and that’s a damn shame (cause we really need like NINE different groups subbing Haruhi). I’m writing this entry to urge you to give Moryo a shot because it’s an absolute gem.
Regarding Bakemonogatari’s Art Direction
…and Shaft in general. I found this in the comments section of another blog.
Really… again lots of long shots, shots that don’t show details, random quick cuts, long winded discussions, “Artistic” moments… Let’s see how many eps before it becomes too painful to watch.
Either people are afraid of change or this just reflects the current anti-intellectualism in the world nowadays. I love the word artistic in quotes, implying that Shaft is either trying to be elitist or pretentious (or both). Let’s just have the same old shit stories drawn in the same old shit ways because I can’t handle all this weird cuts and stuff! String along some retarded romance subplot for fangirls and call it a day huh?
